Architecture & construction

The past few days we've been doing careers for Architecture & construction the two careers I have picked are a construction manager, and an Exhibit Designer. A Construction Manager is someone who watches other people builds things, and make sure it's done correctly. They have to plan and coordinate the construction times, and people. Also, they have to develop control programs, so everything doesn't get out of hand. Also, by doing this interesting job, you can make a lot of money. For the US, it's $82,790 per year. And, I also looked up the price in New York, because I'd like to live there, there annual wage is higher it's $98,400. I think this job would be kind of difficult because it would take a lot of your time. For this job it's best if you have a Bachelor's degree, but you don't have too. You need several years of related experience  and on the job training. The other job I picked was an Exhibit Designers. They design movies, televeision, and theater sets.  For this job you need a Bachelors degree, also lots of work-related skills, or on the job training. For the US it's $50,300 annual. I again picked New York and it's more the annual is $71,000. I picked these two jobs because they looked interesting, but then I came to realize that a Set & Exhibit Designer would be boring. I find a construction manager really interesting though. I've always been interested in building things, so this is a job I might look into.

STEM Connection

The two careers I picked for STEM were an Anthropologists, and an Astronomer. The connection these two have with STEM is that they both have a lot to do with Technology. You need to research, which you could to by computer, or using actual humans. Science, because you have to know about the human body, and its functions to understand what's going on with these people. Also, both of my careers deal with people. The understanding of humans; functions, behavior, origins, and development.
Astronomers have to do a lot of researching with space. They have to interpret astronomical phenomena to increase their basic knowledge about the space, and how it works.

Mr. B gave a really good question, and I would love to respond to it. A reason STEM is in it's own category is because, the students could get everything from school. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. At school, we can have a better chance of understanding the logistics. When others only have one subject to deal with STEM has many. Also, kids can get more chances to take more classes in STEM to get them ready for the harder classes and different careers. Technology is all around us, it's changing all of the time. Everybody uses some sort of technology. Engineering, people need it to build things. Everyone needs to know some about Engineering. Math you need in everyday life, weather it comes to figuring out how much money to spend per month or if you're an accounting person.

Connectoin

We are doing this because it's going to help us later in life. We need realize the connections that these careers have in our life, one of the connections that I have made would be a Social Worker. I would like to go on with this career when I'm out of high school. I love to help children and families out. Also, I'd want what's best for the children. I've realized that this career is going to be far from easy. It's going to be hard to deal with, because it's going to be hard for me to take kids away from there parents and seeing them upset and crying is going to kill me. I just want what's best for kids. They may not understand why they're getting taken away from their family, but later in life they're going to be thankful. Hopefully, there parents are going to realize that they need to change to get there kids back. All children should have parents, but not all parents should have their children.

Career Exploration

Career Exploration is a class that's going to help us decide a career or two that we might want to do when we get out of high school. If we find one that we're really interested in then we can take classes in high school to prepare us for later in life. We have done around eight so far, and some of them have been really interesting. Also, I'll keep you up to date on what I'm learning about!
